In the Ladyzhyn community, a new component – “Just Transition of the Ladyzhyn Community: Development through Participation and Partnership” – has started as part of the three-year project “Power4Just Transition”.

Its aim is to involve residents, non-governmental organisations and initiative groups in shaping the community’s future and developing shared solutions for its development.

Through the project, residents will be able to learn more about just transition, find out how to take part in shaping the Just Transition Plan of the Ladyzhyn community, and propose their own ideas for the community’s development during public consultations.

An important strand of the project will be work on the Charter of the Ladyzhyn community – a document that defines the mechanisms through which residents can influence community life and interact with local self-government bodies.

The project also provides for support to non-governmental organisations, initiative groups and active residents, the development of youth initiatives, training in project management, and the creation of new opportunities for residents to take an active part in decisions that affect them.

The project is intended to make decision-making more open and interaction between the community and the local authorities more effective and easier for every resident to understand.

The project “Just Transition of the Ladyzhyn Community: Development through Participation and Partnership” is implemented by the Civil Society Development Forum NGO in cooperation with the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine, the Ladyzhyn City Council and the Municipal Institution “Local Economic Development Agency of Ladyzhyn”, with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE).

Follow the project’s announcements and join its activities. The community’s future is shaped with the participation of its residents.
